Accessibility

Last updated 2026-09-09

We want everyone to be able to browse, bid and sell here, including people using a screen reader, keyboard only, magnification, or reduced motion.

Standard we are working to

We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA — the benchmark the Australian Human Rights Commission points to for online services. We are not there yet, and this page says where we stand rather than claiming a conformance we have not verified.

Providing goods, services and facilities in a way that discriminates on the basis of disability is unlawful under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth), and that includes a website. We treat the gaps below as defects to fix, not as acceptable.

What is in place

  • A skip link to jump past the header straight to the page content.
  • A visible focus outline on every link, button and form field.
  • Form fields with real labels, associated with their inputs.
  • Meaningful images carry alternative text; purely decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Body text meets the 4.5:1 contrast minimum against the page background.
  • The live price animation is suppressed for visitors who ask for reduced motion.
  • Content tables have header cells and captions.

Known gaps

  • The live bidding screen updates prices and countdowns continuously. Announcements to screen readers are not yet complete, and a bidder relying on one may not hear that they have been outbid.
  • The anti-bot check is provided by Google and its accessibility is outside our control.
  • We have not yet completed an end-to-end audit with assistive technology users.
  • Some seller and admin screens have had less accessibility work than the buyer-facing ones.

Tell us about a barrier

If something here blocks you, email [not yet configured] with the page and what happened. We aim to reply within five working days, and if a barrier stops you completing a purchase we will help you do it another way.

If we do not resolve it, you can complain to the Australian Human Rights Commission: humanrights.gov.au or 1300 656 419.

Version 2026-09-09. We will post any change on this page and update the version date. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will tell registered users before it takes effect.
